The difference between a Roth IRA Plan and a Traditional IRA is that the money deposited into your Roth IRA has already been taxed. You won't have to worry about paying taxes at retirement because it has been already paid. You can withdraw your contribution at any time. No penalty will be charged and no taxes will be withdrawn. This is the more favorable option if you can afford it and you don't need the deduction.

If you need the tax deduction then one should go with a traditional IRA or if you anticipate paying a lower taxes rate at then you should go with a traditional IRA.
